Our Story – Knutson General Contracting LLC
Knutson General Contracting LLC was founded in 2017 by Michael Knutson with one clear mission: to build with integrity, precision, and pride — the same way his father taught him. Construction runs deep in the Knutson family. Michael learned the trade under his father, Chris Knutson, owner of Knutson Construction, whose reputation for hard work, honesty, and craftsmanship shaped Michael from a young age. In October 2013, Chris passed away after a battle with cancer, leaving behind not just a company, but a legacy of values and work ethic that would forever guide Michael’s path.
Rather than walk away from the industry, Michael stepped forward. He carried the lessons his father instilled in him — follow-through, accountability, respect for the client, and pride in doing things right the first time — and built his own company on that foundation. Knutson General Contracting LLC was born out of that purpose: to honor the past while building something stronger for the future.
Today, Knutson General Contracting is a full-service general contractor serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout Central Washington and surrounding areas. The company specializes in foundations, structural concrete, wood and steel framing, pre-engineered metal buildings, tenant improvements, remodels, and facility expansions. Every project, whether small or large, receives the same level of care, planning, and craftsmanship.

Michael remains actively involved in every phase of the company, from pre-construction planning to final walk-through. His hands-on leadership, technical knowledge, and relentless drive for excellence ensure that each client receives not only a finished structure, but confidence that it was built right.
