About
Knutson General Contracting LLC was started in 2017. Michael Knutson founded the company with the knowledge and strength his father, Chris Knutson (owner of Knutson Construction), passed on to him. Chris passed away in October 2013 due to cancer, leaving his family to carry on the business. Michael stepped up and took over the daily operations, following closely in his father’s footsteps.
Michael later founded Knutson General Contracting LLC to continue the legacy his father instilled in him and to build upon the family name. Chris taught Michael several core values that guide the company today:

As general contractors, our job is to provide our customers with quality workmanship and materials, manage the project with respect and diligence, and always remember: we work for the customer—not the other way around.

Our last name goes on every project we complete. We need to make sure we can walk away from each job proud of the work we've done and the name it represents.

Michael has been on job sites since he was 10 years old, working alongside his father and the crew. When he joined Knutson Construction full-time, he continually challenged himself to find better, faster, and more efficient ways to build. That drive continues today, as he constantly studies new building codes, energy codes, and innovations that can improve project efficiency and success.
Michael has also built his own crew based on a family-like structure. He has a strong relationship with every employee at Knutson General Contracting LLC, and that sense of unity shows in the way we work together and serve our clients.
